My work focus mainly on the generation of novel inorganic and hybrid organic-inorganic materials allowing pioneering responses to problems of society in fields such as medicine, environment and energy. Further, some work is linked to the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage.
Administering drugs locally in order to decrease side effects and drug toxicity. This topic includes the preparation of antibacterial, cellular regenerators, among others.
The application of new catalysts to reach environmental protection and economic benefit. Works developed here include transformation of biomass to valuable products, conversion of pollutants.
Conception and preparation of hybrid colored materials searching the decrease of toxicity and increase stability in order to diversify their applications in domains such as ceramics, solar cells and photo-catalysts.
Design and synthesis of materials useful in restoration and preservation of cultural heritage.
Characterization of materials by solid state NMR (including triple-resonance and dynamic polarization) and adsorption of probe molecules (xenon, nitromethane, phosphines) to characterize local properties such as acid-base, polarity, avoid spaces, roughness and fractal dimension.
